Non-ferrous metal separators - edge current (WPS-500/WPS-750/WPS-1000)
Description of use:Eddy Current separators from the Magnetic Series are mainly used in the waste recycling industry. The use of eddy currents allows for the recovery of non-ferrous (non-magnetic) metals from loose waste such as aluminium, copper, brass etc. The WPS separators are characterized by high separation accuracy due to the original solutions by ZŁOMIARZE, which guarantees high profitability of waste recycling.
Wps separators are used in the recovery of:- non-ferrous metals from the recycling of electronic waste
- non-ferrous metals from car recycling
- metals from foundry waste
- aluminium in glass recycling processes
- non-ferrous metals from steel waste
- non-ferrous metals from municipal waste
The material delivered by the vibratory feeder is placed on the conveyor belt of the eddy current separator. The separator belt transports the material towards the high-speed magnetic rotor. The magnetic rotor creates high-frequency magnetic field by using maximized system of alternating magnetic fields. The variable magnetic field induces eddy currents in metals. These currents counteract the external field and lead to the rejection of coloured metals outside the material stream. A divider installed at the end of the separator is provided for the separation of materials. The central magnetic rotor has been designed to handle the smallest materials, providing the ability to recover particles up to 1 mm in diameter.

The vibratory feeder is an essential element for the proper functioning of the separator. It ensures continuous and precise dispensing as well as the distribution of material particles over the entire width of the separator. A prerequisite for good eddy current separation is prior separation of ferrous materials that interfere with the process. Magnetic drum separators or belt separators are designed for ferrous metals separation.
Design description:The eddy current separator consists of a material handling unit, a magnetic rotor, an end chute, a solid frame and an external housing. The conveyor unit is equipped with a belt with double-sided sealing and two cleats, made of thin plastic and fibers with high magnetic field permeability. The belt has a position control system that prevents the belt from slipping off the rotor. A scraper is installed in the separator structure to clean the belt from unwanted elements. The conveyor unit is driven by a gearbox and electric motor on the material side. The belt's sealed construction, along with its side covers, makes it possible to work in difficult conditions.High-speed magnetic rotor is constructed with high-performance neodymium magnets (NdFeB).It uses maximum density of magnetic poles, which affects the accuracy of metal particles separation. The rotor is enclosed in an impermeable casing made of glass fiber composite. It is driven by an electric motor fully controlled by the control cabinet, which enables a precise adjustment of the rotor speed and the conveyor belt. The end chute is equipped with a divider (compartment) to separate the separation materials. The convenient two-way distributor position control allows you to adjust the position quickly and precisely to your needs. The entire separator structure is mounted on vibration isolators. To ensure the longevity of the equipment, the ZŁOMIARZE, as one of few companies, has introduced an improvement in the form of the central cooling of the bearings of the magnetic rotor, thanks to which the service life of the machine has been extended even several times.
