Types of magnetic separators
Many types of magnetic separators are now available on the cable and scrap recycling market. What are the different separators and for which separation the following models are intended?
There are three types of magnetic separators: Magnetic belt separator, Drum magnetic separator and common non-ferrous metal separators – eddy current , which of the following we have described In the previous Article, "how does a non-ferrous metal separator works?"
1. Overband Magnetic Separator (MAGNETIC series) . is applied to loose materials to automatic removal of ferrous impurities in the process of waste recycling. Apart from metal recovery the Separator has a protective function for equipment in further steps of recycling process. They are usually installed on top of transport conveyors.
2. The Drum Magnetic Separator is applied to automatic removal of iron particles, especially low magnetic ones (paramagnetism) in the process of waste recycling. It is usually mounted as standalone device beneath belt conveyor chute and used for loose material as third step of magnetic separation.
3. Eddy current separators are mainly used in the waste recycling industry. The use of the eddy current phenomenon enables the recovery of non-ferrous (non-magnetic) metals, such as aluminum, copper, brass, etc. from loose waste. Eddy current separators are characterized by high separation accuracy, which guarantees high profitability of waste recycling.
